Arsenal face €100m price tag in Rodrygo chase as Real Madrid prepare summer shake-up

Arsenal's hopes of landing Real Madrid star Rodrygo this summer have been given fresh life, but they’ll need to dig deep — reports suggest it’ll take a staggering €100 million (£86 million) to prise him away from the Santiago Bernabéu.

According to Relevo, the Gunners have made enquiries about the Brazilian forward as they look to bolster their attack ahead of the 2025-26 season. With Liverpool and Manchester City also monitoring the situation, competition is heating up for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Despite Rodrygo still having three years left on his Madrid contract, the Spanish giants are reportedly open to his departure. Behind the scenes, Real Madrid are already lining up his replacement, with Paris Saint-Germain’s rising star Désiré Doué topping their wishlist, Fichajes claims.

Doué, who made the switch from Stade Rennais to PSG last summer, has been lighting up Ligue 1 and Europe — scoring 13 times and providing 11 assists in 49 appearances under Luis Enrique. His performances in the Champions League have particularly caught Real’s eye, with the club preparing a €100m bid to lure him to Spain if Rodrygo moves on.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s summer overhaul doesn’t stop there. Xabi Alonso is poised to take over from Carlo Ancelotti as manager, and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly set to join on a free transfer when his contract expires in July.

The Spanish champions are also showing interest in Bournemouth pair Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez, Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, and Como playmaker Nico Paz, who left Madrid’s youth ranks last year for Italy.

With big names potentially arriving and departing, the upcoming transfer window promises to be a busy one at the Bernabéu — and Arsenal will need to meet Real’s lofty demands if they’re to secure Rodrygo’s signature.
