Speaking to *Cadena Ser* on *El Larguero*, the 28-year-old expressed admiration for Real Madrid while emphasizing his satisfaction at Manchester City.
Rodri, who joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for £62.6 million, has been a vital part of Pep Guardiola’s team. Over his tenure, he has secured 10 major trophies, including four Premier League titles and the Champions League. Recently, Rodri played a key role in Spain's Euro 2024 victory and also claimed the Ballon d’Or, edging out Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior.
“When Madrid calls, it’s an honour. You always listen,” Rodri said, acknowledging the possibility of a future move. However, he reaffirmed his commitment to City, where he has two years left on his contract. “I feel valued here. The Guardiola project motivates me. England has given me everything, and I could see myself finishing my career in the Premier League.”
Despite his current focus on City, Rodri admitted the draw of returning to Spain: “Spain is my country, and La Liga continues to improve. Villarreal, where my career started, would also be a fitting place to retire.”
