Following Ruben Amorim's appointment as Manchester United's new manager, replacing Erik ten Hag after a disappointing start to the 2024/25 season, reports suggest that Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee is unhappy at the club.
Amorim, who took over last week, has been working with players not involved in the latest international break as he prepares for his first match in charge against Ipswich Town on Sunday. However, it seems Zirkzee, who joined United from Bologna this summer, is already considering a move away.
According to La Stampa via Calcio Mercato, the 23-year-old has reportedly asked his agents to find him a new club. Juventus has emerged as a potential destination, with manager Thiago Motta said to be a fan of Zirkzee’s talents. A loan move appears likely, with the Dutchman open to the idea of temporarily leaving United.
Zirkzee’s time at United has been challenging, with his only Premier League goal coming on debut against Fulham. This season, he has managed just one goal and two assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.
Amorim, in his first interview as United manager, shared his vision for the team’s style of play. He stated, “You will see an idea, whether you like it or not. You will see a positioning, something we want to build towards. You will feel that in our approach.” He added, “I’ve only had two training sessions before my first match, but I can guarantee you’ll see an idea from us.”
