Bayer Leverkusen Open to Liverpool Move for €80M Star Wirtz Under One Condition

Bayer Leverkusen has informed Liverpool that they are open to transferring their €80 million talent, Florian Wirtz—who many consider superior to Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz—but only if certain terms are met.

At just 20, Wirtz has been pivotal in Leverkusen’s recent domestic success, contributing to an unbeaten run in both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal Cup. He was also instrumental in their journey to the Europa League final, where they narrowly lost to Atalanta.

The 2023-24 season saw Wirtz achieve remarkable numbers with 18 goals and 20 assists, drawing comparisons to former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho. Known for his creativity and technical skill, Wirtz's playmaking abilities align well with Arne Slot's tactical vision at Liverpool, and his adaptability could fill a creative role within the Anfield squad.

However, Leverkusen views Wirtz as essential to their continued success and future plans, making them reluctant to part with him easily. His contributions on the field have also made him a valuable asset to the German national team.

If the move goes through, it would signal Liverpool’s strong ambition to reclaim top honors in both domestic and European competitions, with Wirtz’s arrival potentially reshaping the landscape of European football.
