Rodrygo and Bellingham Both Hit the Woodwork as Real Madrid Trail 0-2 to Dortmund!

Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham came agonizingly close to putting Real Madrid on the scoresheet, but the woodwork had other plans. In a tense sequence of events, the Santiago Bernabéu crowd watched in disbelief as two near-goals from Madrid’s top talents rattled the crossbar, leaving the home side struggling to catch up.

At the 36th minute, Rodrygo was poised to halve the deficit. After a well-crafted attack, he unleashed a powerful shot, only to see it veer just wide. Moments later, in the 39th minute, his next effort looked destined for the net, but the ball crashed off the crossbar, leaving him visibly frustrated as the chance slipped away.

Not long after, Jude Bellingham—who has been in exceptional form—almost produced a moment of brilliance himself. Given space at the edge of the box, Bellingham struck a fierce shot, but once again, the woodwork spared Dortmund. Madrid fans were left stunned as another golden opportunity went begging.

Despite dominating possession and creating chances, Real Madrid remained down 0-2 against a clinical Borussia Dortmund, who had capitalized on their early opportunities. Dortmund's defense, though under constant pressure, held firm with a little help from the goal frame.

As the first half closed, the pressing question was whether Madrid could mount a comeback. With Rodrygo and Bellingham spearheading the attack, there was still hope. However, Dortmund’s defense remained resilient, and Los Blancos would need to find an extra spark in the second half to turn things around in this high-stakes Champions League match.
