**Man Utd Eyeing £67m Real Madrid Midfielder to Boost Mid-Season Performance

Manchester United is reportedly interested in signing a Real Madrid player valued at £67 million, hoping to turn around their poor start to the season.

Under Erik ten Hag, United currently sit in 14th place, with only eight points after a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa, marking their worst league start in 35 years.

Despite an active summer transfer window that saw United bring in players like Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, the team is still struggling, especially in midfield. With the January transfer window approaching, Ten Hag may be seeking further reinforcements.

According to Spanish outlet **Todo Fichajes**, Manchester United has shown interest in Aurelien Tchouameni, who is also on Liverpool’s radar. The report suggests that Tchouameni, who joined Real Madrid in 2022 from AS Monaco for £68.3 million, could be allowed to leave the Spanish giants.

At 24 years old and with a price tag of around £67 million, Tchouameni could provide the stability and creativity United’s midfield has been lacking. While United signed Ugarte to strengthen their midfield, Ten Hag is still looking for solutions to improve the team’s overall performance.

Speaking after a recent 3-3 Europa League draw against Porto, Ten Hag noted Ugarte’s need for time to adapt, saying: “We brought in young players, and they need time to integrate. Ugarte, for example, is adjusting to the demands of Premier League football, and that takes time.”

The potential signing of Tchouameni could be the key to turning things around for United as they aim to climb up the league table.
