Liverpool Considers Swap Deal as Real Madrid Pursues Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool may soon face a transfer battle with Real Madrid, as the Spanish club increases its interest in signing Trent Alexander-Arnold. With vice-captain Dani Carvajal sidelined due to a long-term ACL injury, Real Madrid has set its sights on the Liverpool right-back, whose contract is set to expire in 2025 and has yet to be extended.

According to reports from *MARCA*, Real Madrid is preparing to make an official bid for Alexander-Arnold in January, with hopes of securing him on a free transfer the following summer. However, *TDF* suggests that Madrid could accelerate their pursuit by offering €25 million for the 26-year-old during the winter transfer window.

Liverpool, keen to maximize any potential deal, is reportedly exploring a swap option. The Reds are said to be interested in bringing either Rodrygo or Aurélien Tchouaméni to Anfield in exchange. While Real Madrid has deemed Rodrygo untouchable, they may be open to negotiating over Tchouaméni, who is valued at £66.6 million.

This would not be the first time Liverpool has been linked with Tchouaméni. The French midfielder was a primary target for the club before his eventual move to Madrid, and rumors of a Premier League switch have lingered ever since.

Although losing Alexander-Arnold would be a major blow for Liverpool, acquiring Tchouaméni could offset that loss. However, Liverpool’s top priority remains convincing Alexander-Arnold to extend his contract and continue at Anfield. How these negotiations unfold could significantly shape the transfer strategies of both clubs in the coming months.
